I did it again. I name dropped. Sometimes, I operate out of old insecurities by dropping a name or posturing myself to look good in front of someone. I’m living proof that you can walk with Jesus for decades and still fall into the trap of your utter humanity. Live and hopefully learn.
We are what Pastor Robert Morris terms, “Divinely Human.” We carry the “image of God” and the “image of Man” simultaneously. It’s a beautiful and brutal mystery. I call it “Brutiful.” The Bible is full of divinely human characters. I am not alone. You are not alone.
Today, be gracious to yourself. You are divinely human and if you are aware, you will catch glimpses of both. Like “Elijah, who was as human as we are,” you will ride the roller coaster of life, both highs and lows, and along the way, you will bring hope and life to others. - Pastor Jimmy
