When you are in the busy seasons of your life, (when is it not busy?), it’s foreign and counterintuitive to seek first the Kingdom of God.
It can seem far removed from inflation, riots, political gameplay, media massacres, and the hottest cultural trend of the moment. And yet, it’s the very thing Jesus told us to focus on first. Not second. First and foremost.
He attached a promise to it: “...and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.”
Author and lecturer, E. Stanley Jones writes, “Seek first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added. Seek something else first and all that you need will be subtracted.”
You were created for another kingdom. The disruption, chaos, and tumult of the kingdoms of this world were never God’s Plan A. Pause, and return to the core of who you are, a son/daughter of the King and His Kingdom.
Reaffirm your commitment to “seek first the kingdom,” and rest in the truth that the Holy Spirit will help you realign and recenter your affections. - Pastor Jimmy
