Life for those in Jerusalem, as they knew it, was stolen away. Evil Syrian forces entered the Temple and desecrated it by slaughtering a pig and pouring its blood on the altar of the Holies of Holies. It was the ultimate act of pride, rebellion, and defiance against the Lord of Hosts.
Daniel reports that a group of people, who knew their God and understood the evil that was upon them, resisted and carried out great exploits by organizing a revolt that eventually restored the glory of the Temple by removing every trace of demonic destruction and defilement.
They were more committed to God than they were to the earthly kingdoms of evil men. They stood their ground; many perished, but they prevailed despite the odds against them. We too must be strong and stand against evil in our world. Be courageous and take your stand. - Pastor Jimmy
