Whatever you can dare to ask or imagine, God is able to do immeasurably more! I believe our ‘asks’ of God are too small. Listen to someone pray, and you’ll hear the word ‘just’ inserted ad infinitum. ‘Just’ is a qualifier, and it is our attempt to be humble; to avoid risking bothering God with our requests.
It’s as though we are afraid to approach and even more afraid to ask or request something definitive from our Abba Father. Paul reminds us that God is ‘able' (empowered, capable) to do immeasurably (super abundantly, exceedingly) more than we would [dare] to ask or imagine.’
As I type these words, I am convinced that I have been thinking too small and asking for too little. How many dreams lie dormant because we have not dared to ask or imagine? Today, join me in 'Bible-Sizing' our requests of God. May we dare to ask and imagine the possibilities!
