A couple of years ago, while teaching an extended series on the person, work, and ministry of the Holy Spirit, I started the daily practice of saying, “Good Morning, Holy Spirit” upon waking. It quickly turned to “Good Afternoon, Good Evening, and Good Night, Holy Spirit.”
Over time, I became more aware of His role as Helper, Intercessor, Teacher, Advocate, and Friend. Scripture taught me that because He is a person, He can be grieved, which means made sorrowful, offended, or sad. I grew to be more mindful and intentional in my relationship with Him.
I am inviting you to start a new practice. Upon waking in the morning, whisper, “Good Morning, Holy Spirit.” It may just start a beautiful conversation with the One Jesus said would represent Him as He ascended to the right hand of the Father. - Pastor Jimmy
