I'll never forget traveling through a community in the high desert of Southern California. I just knew that something wasn't right. Like Paul, my "spirit was provoked within me."
I found out that several tragedies had occurred there, as though it was somehow beset by evil. As Paul spent time in Athens, he observed and sensed that something was very off. It was rife with idolatry.
This led Paul to engage the culture of Athens, testifying of who Jesus was in the public square, Mars Hill. We must be willing to boldly and wisely engage our culture as did Paul, Jesus, the prophets, and the apostles.
Just as Mordecai exhorted Esther, "...you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this." Could it be this is your time to step up, engage, and speak truth into your culture? Let us be faithful in our charge. - Pastor Jimmy
