Jesus was laying out the coming destruction of the Temple, and it was disheartening to hear what was coming.
The Temple was the crown jewel of Jerusalem, the very heart of the culture. The thought of its demise was too much to imagine.
In the midst of this grim prediction, Jesus said, “By standing firm, you will gain life.” Hope and clarity Pierced the darkness, chaos, and confusion.
Jesus engaged culture head-on without restraint. He spoke truth to power. Today, pastors, churches, and believers must stand firm and speak truth to culture.
We live in perilous times. Jesus’ words ring as true today as they did then, “By standing firm, you will gain life!”
Just as Jesus spoke to power, we too must boldly and courageously engage culture, valuing respect over being liked. Stand firm and speak truth. - Pastor Jimmy
