I’ve lost count of how many times this verse has been quoted out of context. I understand why - it’s uplifting, it resonates deeply, and it’s easy to share.
But to truly grasp its meaning, we must read the entire chapter. Each point serves as a qualifier for this profound truth: “that in all things God works for the good.”
Who is the recipient of this incredible promise? It’s not everyone - it’s specifically for “those who love Him” and “have been called according to His purpose.”
Do you love Him? Not from a distance, but intimately and wholeheartedly. Have you been called? Not necessarily as a missionary or into ministry, but called by His Spirit to be His child.
Today, take a moment to draw near - to worship, adore, and love Him. Say “Yes” to His call and embrace His invitation. When you do, you can rest in the assurance that He is working for your good. - PJ
